One of the great things about Asia are all the regional foods. Here is a cornucopia of fruit that many of you would have trouble naming even two. |
Islands like this dot the tranquil waters on most of our tours. We visit many of them, but our focus is still on the biking end of things. |
This Malaysian road cuts through miles of coconut plantations. Hardly any traffic to get in our way of maximum motorcycling enjoyment. |
This handsome mosque is on Pulau Langkawi, a large island off the northern west coast of Malaysia. |
Many of our lodgings are deep inside the rainforest. This allows one to experience this ecosystem up close and in detail. At one lodge I came face-to-face with a mature male orangutan and we just stared at each other for 15 minutes. |
The 3rd-largest ethnic group in Malaysia are Indians. Their temples are a riot of color and sculpture. Here a temple keeper looks exactly like the flanking statues. Their Thaipusam festival is a must see. |
One of the oldest immigrant groups in Asia are the Baba-Nonyas. They came from China in the 1500's and are still going strong in Melaka. |
Sri Lanka is one of the most beautiful countries on earth, with antiquities that rival the Romans and Greeks. A farmer churns his field with a buffalo team. |
This wonderful church is on Sri Lanka. I caught it out of the corner of my eye and hit the brakes to investigate. You never know what you'll see next on an Asian biking tour. |
The Silk Road in China is full of fantastic biking from end to end. Here we are riding through Jiohe, an ancient city, 3000 years old, built on an island in a river, and forgotten by time. |

This photo needs no introduction. With our bikes we can travel anywhere we please, far from the crowds, like this deserted gate in the middle of China. We are parked at the base. |
In the Gobi desert, our convoy is visited by a posse of camel riders. Seconds later, a rear hoof lashed out sending a 700 lb. machine flying. This taught us never to walk behind a camel. |
